This time it should be quite simple - 6 boards, a reflex tube and a broadband chassis that does not require a recess in the baffle. All boards are rectangular and larger than 10x10cm and can therefore be cut to size for you directly at your local DIY store.
The speaker does not need a crossover. An ideal start!
The right candidate for this was our Redcatt 4FRX4. Low equivalent volume (2.8L) with an overall Q of 0.43, relatively low resonance frequency (69.6hz) and a power handling of 50W programme at xmax +/-5.7mm promise not only a quite complete listening impression in the lower range with a small cabinet size, but also a level stability that exceeds most full range drivers of this size by far.
